AZ Hot Sauce Lacrosse is dedicated to teaching the basic fundamentals of lacrosse and to promote the love and spirit of the game to young boys (K-8th grade) and young men (9th-12th grade) in the state of Arizona.
Coach Rovinelli began his coaching career in 2007 with the University of Arizona where he spent two years, first as a defensive coordinator and then as Head Coach. During his tenure he helped lead the Wildcats to a 26-16 (61%) record with two conference tournament appearances and one national appearance. Five of Coach Rovinelli’s players received All-conference honors with 1 All-American.
During the 2009 and 2010 seasons, Coach Rovinelli served as defensive coordinator for Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University before accepting the Head Coaching position with the Chaparral Lacrosse Firebirds.
During his three years span at Chaparral, Coach Rovinelli compiled a 47-14 (77%) record leading the team to a state title in 2011, a state final appearance in 2012 and a semi-final appearance in 2013. His team developed 18 All-conference selections, 2 All-Americans and 1 Academic All-American.
Coach Rovinelli is a native of Framingham Massachusetts where he was a high school All-American goalie and state champion wrestler. He continued both careers at Springfield College (MA). While at Springfield coach received Academic All-American Honors (2x), Springfield College Duel-Sport Athlete of the Year (03) and Springfield College Male Scholar Athlete of the Year (05).
Occupationally, Coach PJ owns a Corporate Wellness and Leadership consulting company.
